COVID-19 Update (April 14, 2021):
Christ is risen - He is risen indeed!
In spite of our frustrations, this seasonal refrain continues to be Good News, and we continue to share joy and hope as followers of Jesus
The Easter season is the high point of the Christian calendar. We are celebrating the resurrection - we will continue to share the hope that is offered by the empty tomb. But any suggestion of returning to normal has stopped being part of our vocabulary.
Current cautious practices are normal, and will be until such time as public behaviours and vaccination rates combine to lower the possibilities of spreading this persistent virus. The return to Stage 1 protocols have not (yet) changed the way we will offer worship at St John's.
The benchmarks used by the government of Alberta for changing public health directives are such that there are no changes to the capacity restrictions. We will, therefore, continue to worship in Taylor Hall and offer access to our services through Zoom and YouTube Livestreaming. All streamed services are also available as recordings on our YouTube channel, which can be found here:
Our in-person worship attendance in Taylor Hall is limited to 35 people. This includes those on the worship team (musicians, technicians and the minister).
We continue to require masks for everyone in attendance. We have also arranged the seating within Taylor Hall to facilitate 2m distance between individuals or household groups. We are doing everything in our power to create a safe atmosphere for worship.
We are grateful to those who have helped us in this regard - who have taken these public health regulations seriously. It is an expression of Christ's love that we show every consideration for one another's health and welfare.
We appreciate your prayerful support as together we navigate these strange waters.
Be well, and have a Blessed Easter.
