COVID-19 Update (February 22, 2021):
These continue to be challenging times.
The session's decision to offer only virtual worship through Advent and Christmas was made in an abundance of caution. Though in person worship was allowed, the reduced capacity meant that there was always the possibility of needing to turn someone away from worship in an important season of the Christian year. While restrictions on attendance remain in place (15% of the posted capacity of the worship space) we realize that our current attendance will not exceed the restricted capacity limit. Session announced a return to in-person worship effective January 31, 2021.
The benchmarks used by the government of Alberta for changing public health directives are such that there will be no changes in the current capacity restrictions in time for Easter on April 4th. We will, therefore, continue to worship in Taylor Hall through Lent, Holy Week and Easter.
Our worship attendance is still limited to 35 people. This includes those on the worship team (musicians, technicians and the minister). As Easter approaches, we will consider the possibility of multiple services on Easter Sunday if necessary. An email will be circulated to help us make that decision.
We continue to require masks for everyone in attendance. We have also arranged the seating within Taylor Hall to facilitate 2m distance between individuals or household groups. We are doing everything in our power to create a safe atmosphere for worship. We are grateful to those who have helped us in this regard - who have taken these public health regulations seriously. It is an expression of Christ's love that we show every consideration for one another's health and welfare.
We appreciate your prayerful support as together we navigate these strange waters.
Be well.
