Facility Rentals at St. John's Medicine Hat

St. John’s welcomes the use of our space by individuals and community organizations that share our values of compassion, justice, integrity, the inherent dignity of all people as created in the image of God, and contribute positively to the community.

Many individuals have utilized our space for events like birthdays, anniversaries, and baby showers. Many community organizations rent our space for music, drama, committee meetings, quilting retreats, cultural gatherings, and more.

Our rooms are wheelchair accessible, with access to washrooms, and a pantry area with fridge, sink, coffee maker, electric kettle, and microwave. Renters provide all their own supplies for dishes and consumables. Our fully equipped kitchen is not available for rental at this time.

  • Classroom: A great size for meetings or small gatherings. The room capacity is 18 and comfortably accommodates 12 with tables and chairs.
  • Morrow Hall: A larger space with a capacity of 116 that comfortably accommodates 60 with tables and chairs. Microphone and speaker available.
  • Taylor Hall: A gym with hardwood flooring, stage, and basketball hoops. The capacity is 369 that comfortably accommodates around 200 with tables and chairs. Microphone and speaker available.
  • Choir Room: Available for music rehearsals. This space includes a piano, music stand and choir chairs for 20. It is located upstairs and is not wheelchair accessible without a qualified elevator operator.
  • Sanctuary: Our sanctuary is not normally available for rent, but permission may be granted based on intended use and leadership. It seats 350 people (including balcony). Please contact the church office for further details.
  • Video projection & screen: This equipment can be rented for your event for a $25 charge.

Classroom

Perfect for meetings, workshops, training sessions, and small group gatherings, our Classroom offers a comfortable and versatile space designed to encourage collaboration and learning. The room has a maximum capacity of 18 people and comfortably seats up to 12 guests with tables and chairs arranged for presentations, discussions, or hands-on activities. Whether you're hosting a business meeting, community workshop, study group, or planning session, the Classroom provides a practical and welcoming environment for productive gatherings.

Morrow Hall

A larger rental space, Morrow Hall is ideal for banquets, receptions, community events, presentations, workshops, and larger gatherings. With a maximum capacity of 116 people, the hall comfortably accommodates up to 60 guests with tables and chairs arranged for dining, meetings, or group activities. The flexible layout allows the space to be configured to suit a variety of event needs. A microphone and speaker system are available to help ensure announcements, presentations, and speeches can be heard clearly throughout the room, making Morrow Hall a versatile and welcoming venue for both formal and informal occasions.

Taylor Hall

Taylor Hall is a spacious, multi-purpose gymnasium that is well suited for large community events, banquets, receptions, sporting activities, performances, trade shows, and special gatherings. Featuring a hardwood floor, elevated stage, and basketball hoops, the space offers exceptional flexibility for both recreational and event-based uses. With a maximum capacity of 369 people, Taylor Hall comfortably accommodates approximately 200 guests with tables and chairs arranged for dining, meetings, or celebrations. A microphone and speaker system are available to support presentations, speeches, performances, and announcements, making Taylor Hall an excellent choice for events that require both space and versatility.

Choir Room

Designed with musicians and vocal ensembles in mind, the Choir Room provides a dedicated rehearsal space for choirs, music groups, and individual performers. The room is equipped with a piano, music stand for the director, and choir seating for up to 20 participants, making it an ideal setting for practices, sectional rehearsals, and small musical gatherings. Located on the upper level of the building, the Choir Room offers a quiet and focused environment for creative and musical development. Please note that the room is not wheelchair accessible unless a qualified elevator operator is available to provide access.

Sanctuary

Our beautiful Sanctuary provides a reverent and inspiring setting with seating for up to 350 people, including the balcony. While the Sanctuary is not typically available for general rental, permission may be granted for select events that align with the mission, values, and intended use of the space. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require approval from church leadership. If you are interested in using the Sanctuary for a special event, concert, ceremony, or community gathering, please contact the church office to discuss your needs and determine availability.

For full use of the facility, a sound and/or video operator (for recording and/or live-streaming) can be provided for extra charge, depending on availability.

Add on: Projector and Screen

Enhance your event with our video projection and screen package, available for an additional fee of $25 per event. Ideal for presentations, training sessions, meetings, photo slideshows, movies, and special occasions, this equipment allows you to share visual content with your audience clearly and effectively. Please let us know when booking your space if you would like to add video projection and screen services to your rental.

While we can provide a laptop for use with the projector, it is old and not guaranteed to suit your needs. For best service, you should bring your own laptop for presentations. A sound system (3.5mm headphone jack) is provided with the projector.
